The university authorities have decided to open Chittagong University (CU) between October 17 and 20. But before that, the first dose of 100% of the students has to be confirmed. At the same time student dormitory halls and shuttles will be introduced.

The decision was taken at the 534th intra-ordinary meeting of the syndicate on Thursday afternoon. University syndicate member and AF Rahman Hall Provost Professor Kazi SM Khasrul Alam Quddusi said that Thursday’s meeting discussed the opening of the university in mid-October. Hall and shuttle will also be opened when the university opens. Once the final decision is made, the official order will come through the next syndicate. However, students need to ensure one dose of vaccine.
“We also understand that students are having problems with transportation and housing,” he said. It would not be right to stop the test now. Having a little trouble temporarily, but better if the test is done. He said the university has been closed for a long time. We are also anxious to open a university. Preparations for the opening have already begun.
The Registrar (Acting) of the University, Professor SM Monirul Hasan, said that the policy decision to reopen the University on October 17 was subject to confirmation of the first dose of vaccine. According to the data we obtained in the online survey, about 31% of students in CU received two doses of the vaccine. Another 19% received the first dose. Almost many of the teachers and officials have been vaccinated. But most of the employees did not get vaccinated. In all, we have calculated two doses and given the demand of 46 thousand ticks to the Department of Health.
He said the vaccine would actually be given at the university’s medical center.
