Attempt to snatch ballot papers in Kutubdia, 1 killed in shooting

A man named Abdul Halim (30) was shot dead by law enforcers at Pilatkata Government Primary School in Ward 5 of Kutubdia Baraghop Union.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Halim, son of Mohammad Hossain of Goldarpara area of ​​Baraghop Union and general secretary of Awami League in Ward 8.

Witnesses said some people tried to snatch ballot papers by creating a chaotic atmosphere at the polling station. Abdul Halim was shot by a member of the law enforcement force. He was rescued and taken to Kutubdia Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Kutubdia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Omar Haider confirmed that a man named Abdul Halim was killed while trying to create a disturbance at the polling station. The body of the deceased is at Kutubdia Upazila Health Complex. He said the deceased was a supporter of the boat symbol candidate.
