By 2022, 80 percent of people will be vaccinated: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that by August 2022, 80 percent of the people of Bangladesh will be brought under the corona vaccine.

He made the remarks at a high-level virtual meeting convened by US President Joe Biden on Wednesday (September 22nd).

In a video recorded at the White House, the Prime Minister said three and a half crore doses of vaccine have been given in Bangladesh till September 14. The government plans to vaccinate 20 million doses per month. Sheikh Hasina said it was important to allow developing countries to produce vaccines to make the vaccine universal.

At the meeting, US President Joe Biden promised to give another 500 million doses of vaccine to developing countries. He also called upon the heads of state and government, businessmen and international organizations of each country to come forward to tackle the epidemic.
