Nazmul Hasan Papon has been elected as the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the fourth time in a row. Today (Thursday) he was elected president by a vote of the board of directors. BCB sources said.

Papon was elected director after receiving the highest number of votes from the club category in Wednesday’s BCB election. He got 53 out of 58 votes. As a result, Papon came to BCB after winning the election for the first time. Because he was elected unopposed in the previous two rounds.

In the first phase, Papon became the president of BCB in 2012 on the nomination of the government. He was elected unopposed as director in the October 2013 elections. He was re-elected unopposed in the 2016 elections. However, this time he took part in the election with 15 candidates and won in the end. Papon has been elected director for the third time in a row. At the same time, he sat in the chair of the BCB president for the fourth time in a row. But before the election, he said, he may not be the president this time.

The newly elected directors came to the BCB office at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur around noon. Supporters of the elected directors marched across the stadium. There are crowds of people inside the main gate of the stadium. They welcomed the new directors in the victory procession.
