Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek says the World Health Organization has agreed to vaccinate school children under the age of 18 in Bangladesh.

He made the remarks at a press briefing on the Covid-19 vaccine at the BCPS auditorium in the capital on Sunday (October 10).

“I have met the director general of the World Health Organization and he has given us approval for vaccination of school children,” he said.

“Between December and January, we will be able to vaccinate 80 million people in double doses and another 40 million double doses between March and April,” he said. A total of 12 crore people will be given the second dose by next April.

He added that children between the ages of 12 and 18 will be vaccinated soon. They will be vaccinated against Pfizer. We have a stock of 6 million Pfizer vaccines, we will get another 4 million doses of vaccines soon.
