A section of Dhaka University students have blocked the Shahbagh junction in the capital in protest of attacks on temples, mandapas and houses centered on Durgotsab in different parts of the country.

Today, Monday (October 18) after 10:30 am, the students took position at the Shahbagh intersection.

Due to the blockade, the traffic from Shahbag to Paltan, Science Lab, Bangla Motor and TSC was stopped.

Protesting students are chanting slogans in Shahbag. In the slogan, they say, “Minority ministry should be done,” “Why attack the temple, the administration wants an answer.”

Due to the incident in Comilla, attacks on temples and puja mandals in different parts of the country have taken place this time. There have also been multiple deaths in the clashes.
