Juba League leader shot dead in Maheshkhali
       

Opponents have shot dead a Juba League leader named Mohammad Ruhul Quader (35) in Maheshkhali of Cox’s Bazar. The deceased was the president of Maheshkhali Upazila Bangabandhu Foundation and former vice-president of Union Juba League.

The incident took place at around 10pm on Monday (October 18) at Fakir Zum Para on the east side of Kalarma Chhara Bazar. The deceased was identified as Juba League leader Mohammad Amin.

According to local sources, Juba League leader Ruhul Quader reached Fakirjum Para on his way home from Chhara Bazar in Kalarma of Maheshkhali Upazila at that time.

The locals rescued Ruhul Quader and took him to Kalarma Chhara Sub-Health Center and later to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex Hospital in critical condition. The doctor declared him dead.

The deceased was identified as Rahul Quader, president of Maheshkhali Upazila Bangabandhu Foundation and former vice-president of Kalarmarchhara Union Juba League. There are several cases against him.

Maheshkhali Police Station OC Md Abdul Hai confirmed the incident and said that the murder could take place due to domination in the area. The body was recovered and sent for autopsy.

Attempts are being made to arrest the accused, the OC said.
