The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 74 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.
The raids were carried out from 6am on Saturday (October 23) to 6am on Sunday (October 24) and drugs were recovered.
Hafiz Al Asad, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Department, made the announcement on Sunday morning.
He said 155 grams, 524 pieces of pure heroin, 5,636 pieces of yaba, 45 kg, 60 grams of cannabis, 69 bottles of phencidyl, 30 injectable drugs and 2.5 liters of domestic liquor were seized from the 64 arrested persons.
The police official also said that 51 cases have been registered against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act.
