The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 59 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.
As part of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s regular anti-drug drive, they raided various police stations in the capital from 6am on Sunday (October 24th) to 6am on Monday (October 25th) and seized drugs.
Hafiz Al Asad, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Department, said this on Monday morning.
He said 270 grams of 11 pieces of pure heroin, 4,602 pieces of yaba, 4 kg 638 grams of 35 pieces of cannabis and 4 liters of domestic liquor were seized from the 59 arrested persons. The police official also said that 51 cases have been registered against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act.
