Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the army personnel to be ready to accept the highest sacrifice in any situation of the country. At the same time, the Prime Minister said, his government has made all arrangements to modernize the armed forces.

The Prime Minister said this while handing over national standards and flags to 10 units of the Army in virtual Dhaka and Chittagong from Ganobhaban on Wednesday morning.

The national flag was handed over by the Prime Minister to several regiments including Mujib Regiment and Raushan Ara Regiment of the Army. Besides, 10 units of the Army have been given National Standards. The Prime Minister was impressed by the parade organized on this occasion.

Referring to the initiatives taken by his government for the welfare of the Army personnel and modernization of the Armed Forces, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the activities of the Armed Forces.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “Our armed forces have been strong and advanced for 13 years. And, in particular, it is making a significant contribution to the fight against militancy, terrorism, natural disasters, and coronavirus.

Highlighting the steps taken by his government for the development and progress of the country, the Prime Minister said that the Forces Goal is being implemented in the Armed Forces.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “Bangladesh Army is making significant contribution to the protection of the sovereignty of the country as well as various socio-economic and infrastructural development and nation building including tackling human disasters.”

“I believe that the Bangladesh Army will always be ready to accept the highest sacrifices in any national need, including the defense of Bangladesh’s independence,” she added.

He also lauded the role of the Armed Forces in participating in the UN peacekeeping missions and hoped that the Armed Forces would bring a good name to the country in all respects.
