Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that the BNP has failed in the movement and elections and is now inciting communal forces against the country and the government.
The general secretary of the Awami League said, “The BNP is still able to do politics because the Awami League is tolerant.” Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this at a briefing at his residence here on Saturday morning.
Mentioning that BNP leaders have been saying such things for the last one century, Obaidul Quader said, “Actually, not the government, there is no soil under the feet of BNP.
Obaidul Quader said, “There is no ground under the feet of BNP for the politics of negativity and conspiracy.” So they are isolated from the roots and disenfranchised.
Mentioning that the BNPE wanted to throw democracy into the Bay of Bengal through the voterless elections on February 15, the Awami League general secretary said, “The BNPE wanted to destroy democracy by creating one and a half crore fake voters.” Even the BNP has uprooted democracy and democratic values from the constitution.
‘BNP is the killer of democracy; Obaidul Quader also claimed that Awami League and Sheikh Hasina are the defenders of democracy. He said, ‘Ziaur Rahman killed democracy by voting yes-no when he was the army chief.
Obaidul Quader said, “Sheikh Hasina has brought democracy on the right path by overcoming many obstacles in the way of development of democracy.”
It is a matter of time to institutionalize democracy, but if the BNP had played a responsible role as an opposition party, it would not have taken long for democracy to be institutionalized, ”said Obaidul Quader.
The bridge minister said, “Both the government and the opposition can institutionalize democracy.” However, the opposition has repeatedly obstructed the establishment of democracy there.
“The BNP has failed in the movement and elections and is now inciting communal forces against the country and the government,” said Obaidul Quader.
Obaidul Quader said, “The BNP is able to criticize the government for having democracy in the country and is criticizing it in various ways including speeches, statements, human chains, discussions and talk shows. The government is not punishing them for this.” , Awami League did not retaliate even after trying to assassinate Sheikh Hasina on 21st August.
‘The people of the country have confidence in the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. The Awami League general secretary claimed that the people were happy with the government and that it was the reason for the BNP’s anger.
