Gang rape making husband, child hostages, accused No. 3 held

Tourist police have arrested the No. 3 accused in connection with the case filed against gang rape of a housewife making her husband and child hostages in Cox’s Bazar.

Israfil Huda Joy was arrested from Chakaria bus terminal early Tuesday morning by conducting drives.

Israfil Huda is the son of Shafiuddin of Cox’s Bazar city. He was one of the masterminds of the gang rape.

Mohammad Muslim, Additional DIG of Tourist Police, said this at a press conference on early Tuesday afternoon.

He said three people including the main accused Ashique whose names mentioned in the case and three more persons on the complain of the victim woman have been arrested so far.
He further said arrested Zia Guest Inn manager Reaz Uddin Choton is now on a four-day remand, while three other accused are on a two-day remand.

Those who are on a two-day remand are Rezaul Karim Shahabuddin, 25, of South Bahar Char area in Cox’s Bazar city; Mamunur Rashid, 28, of Ulubunia in Dulhazara of Chakaria upazila; and Mehedi Hasan , 21, of West Baharchhara in Cox’s Bazar city.

Meanwhile, six persons have been arrested so far in connection with the case. Prime accused Ashiqul Islam Ashique was arrested by RAB from Madaripur on Sunday.

Earlier on the day of incident, Reazuddin Choton, another accused was arrested by RAB.
